Teddy bears are cute, cuddly and lovable. Some kids are so accustomed to having teddy around that they can't even sleep without them. Young couples normally give teddy bears as a sign of love. It's not something that leads you to trouble or harm. But that is not the case for a British teacher in Khartoum, sudan.
Gillian Gibbons, a teacher in Unity High School, was arrested because of a teddy bear named Mohammed. Seven year-old students from her class named a teddy bear "Mohammed" as part of a school project. And because of this, Gillian Gibbons was arrested by police for "insulting religion and inciting hatred." This offense is punishable by 40 lashes.
