The "X" in new Elmo's name stands for Extreme.
Apparently, the movements which T.M.X. Elmo can do is state-of-the-art. No other stuffed toy can do what T.M.X. Elmo can.
TMX Elmo is expected to sell like hotcakes this holiday season. To date, pre-orders have even already exceeded expectations.
If your child wants one for Christmas, it might be best to line up for one right now. They are available at Toys "R" Us, Wal-Mart and KB Toys.

Sorry "Response" and no I do not speak to my granddaughter that way. Hopefully you're not one of the airheads who actually paid a kings ransom for the doll. It's more than ridiculous, its just plain stupid.
And to "DaddyO", look again on Amazon, they're starting at $99.99.
Once again, if NOBODY is actually dumb enough to pay these prices they'll be back to their original retail price soon enough. The law of Supply and Demand works both ways in case nobody has figured that out yet. From the looks of what people are getting for these dolls it appears nobody has.

I went to walmart, and it wasnt sold out.. the product packaging makes it hard for people to know what it is. Walmart just had a sign that said 'new product', and then a stack of the TMX boxes.
if anyone knows total production numbers, please post. Thanks

I went on the afternoon of the 19th thinking no problem my daughter and I could see what it was like. She someimes is afraid of toys that have alot of movements. ThEY WERE GONE! I can not believe that. The sales girl said that she didn't even get to see one she got to work at 11. I think all these people on ebay are outragiouse. I don't understand how it is so easy for these people to buy up all these toys meant for small children and sell them for hundereds of dollars. My mother keeps asking me to try and get on for my girl But I am not willing to pay. 100 plus another for 20 for shipping. What do these people do? Do they have jobs? Why are they buying toys meant for children. Why do they have to be so greedy.

i went to target, kb, toysrus last week and all sold out. at target i met one of those people who sell toys online. i went back the next day to target to see if they were back in stock, no luck. but this woman was there and she had found one tmx on the returned items cart. when she saw me, she gave it to me because she had seen me with my kid the previous day looking for it. so these people DO have hearts. don't give up on humanity.
that said, my kid is terrified of this toy. don't buy the hype. it looks like a little robot clothed in cheap red fur. it looks like it is having seizures on the floor and my toddler is not impressed. but it's growing on me.

Well, I put some time and a lot of effort into my search and was able to come up with 4 Elmos this past weekend. I guess I can respect the opinions of those who see buying-for-profit as a nasty, child-depriving practice, but to each his own. It's something I do and have been successful at it.
For those who are still looking for the elusive Elmo I'll share a basic collectors search tip that might help you out a bit. This is for those of you who have Target stores in your area.
Target stores stock their merchandise every night so a lot of collectors will wait before the store opens and grab up the goods before most of the public arrives. Chances are the Targets in your area are receiving Elmo shipments but they're gone long before you get there.
Pick out a Target store in your area and get there before it opens. When it opens hurry and check if they received any Elmos. Make sure you check with someone who is working stock and ask more than one person if you can. I've visited stores where one person knows about the shipment and the next doesn't. Since the Elmo craze has started some stores are NOT stocking the shelves with their shipments. I don't know the reason for this but I have witnessed this at more than one location. In fact, I found 2 Elmos at a Target that was keeping their stock in the back. Most people were looking at the empty shelf and leaving.
If you find that your Target did not receive a shipment, remove the little price tag from the shelf where the Elmos are kept. The one that has the SKU number on it. Take that tag to the electronics department where they have a cash register and ask them to do a SKU check of all the Target stores in the area for that item. They will be able to provide you with a list of stores that received Elmo shipments the previous evening. They will even be able to tell you how many Elmo dolls came in at each location. Remember, you have to hurry because those Elmos are on the shelves that morning.
From there it's up to you where to go next. The closest Target location or maybe the one that received the biggest shipment.
To give you an idea of how competitive it is out there... I had a list that showed a shipment of 15 Elmos at a Target store 10 minutes away. I got to that store 20 minutes after the doors opened and ALL of the Elmos were in the hands of others.
Hey, it's tough out there when you have to go up against serious collectors and profiteers but with a little time and determination you can beat the odds.

Every now and again Walmart.com has them on their website. Granted it's usually around 4 am; but if you want one that badly, wake up at that time and see if you can find one!
Last week I went on the Fisher Price website and pre-ordered two of them for the December 8th shipment. In the end, children ARE receiving these Elmo's. Sure, people want to make a profit on them, but it's because they know that parents are willing to spend so much on their kids. I found one on eBay for $83, and my neighbor has already asked me to sell it to her. I agreed to it, for $83. No profit, and she was more than happy to agree.

As a stay-at-home mom, I had promised my husband a month ago that we could afford preschool for our three-year-old, even though we couldn't. I picked up on the Elmo shortage halfway through the day on the 19th, grabbed the toddler and preschooler, and made it to the store to buy seven of them. I should've bought more! I could've paid for the whole year of preschool and not just the first few months. Even so I am proud at what I accomplished. I do not see myself as a selfish ebay seller, just a mom who would never buy a $100 Elmo herself but would be happy to sell you one!

I too am a parent (of three) and I stood in line and bought one. To those of you that frown on Wal-Mart practices, the store I went to was limiting one per customer. I don't consider myself to be selfish. I too would do anything for my children. You all have to remember we live in AMERICA, not a police state. And in AMERICA, we are free to try to make a little money if we can. So, to all of you who are saying how disgusting we that have a TMX Elmo, and are selling it for profit, I would just say deal with it. I don't like your narrow selfish views, but I have served my country to protect your freedom to think that way, as well as the freedom to make a buck if you happen to do your homework to be the "early bird" who caught the worm.

I just got back from walmart, I picked up a couple as they were unloading it from the pallet, I was disgusted to see a couple snatching up the rest! (20+!) you KNOW they are selling those on ebay.. no wonder why theres none in the stores, they are all on Ebay. It really ticks me off, so much that Im keeping one I purchased, settin it aside and putting it up in ebay in November for exactly how much *I* paid for mine at the store. It really gives regular ebay store sellers a bad name when you have these greedy jerks doing this..it just isnt right..and yes, *I* could have purchased the whole pallet if I wanted to (I should of!) just so I can hand out flyers to local parents (emphasize PARENTS) that *I* will sell it to them at cost!
I DID give that couple a nasty look for everyone, it was just too freakin obvious... 3 carts worth of Elmos? PUHLEASE!

Make a "buck"?
Early bird?
Hmm, they are making more than a buck, but at what COST!?!
And the only reason I was able to get one was because walmart unloads the pallet close to midnight, and I just so happen to be up and needing something from the store, how many PARENTS can actually DO that? Take a ride to walmart at 11:45 at NIGHT and wait around till midnight, just hoping that MAYBE they might have a small shipment..THAT night?!? But then to find a LINE of people who are trying to snag them up to sell them at a 300% profit?!
I sell on ebay, I usually sell at cost or about a 1.00 over cost, so Im NOT rolling in money, and I DO plan on selling my Elmo I was able to get, only because I want it to go to someone who actually has kids that WANT it..and I plan on selling it at COST.. its hard enough raising a family, who am I to drain your wallet because the latest craze is out and you have vultures hovering around walmart at midnight making it impossible for the familes to give their kids the lastest things to make them happy? It just sucks all around.. yeah, Im happy we are in America too, but don't we have a conscience? Morals? Ethics? ..

I wish you people moaning about not wanting to spend over $50 on TMX Elmo. I live in England and TMX Elmo over here is £39.99 RRP whereas in the USA it is $39.99 RRP therefore I am having to pay $74 to get just the one. Hardly fair is it.
I am also one of those people you hate, I found the last three TMX Elmo's in my local Toys R Us. I am going to sell them the first week of December and make a nice profit.
If parents wanted them so badly, they should have pre-ordered one when they did the press release about them.

Come on people, we are talking about a toy. Since you are all whining and blaming everyone for every bad thing in the world, why don't you blame the manufacturer for creating the hype with not enough stock to go around. I waited 11 LONG HOURS for an XBOX 360 on the launch date.... Why? Because I wanted one... Same situation, supply and demand.. Its the American way and I would not have it any other way. If some of you would spend more time researching these sought after toys, and where you can find them, and less time on the computer whining about how you couldn't get one, maybe you would not be one of the masses forced to buy at inflated prices.

Today this stock person was talking to her walmart friends that were waiting in the line and told her how many they had, US CUSTOMERS, asked the girl how many is there so we are not wasting time waiting. She just ignored us. Also i would like to say they should limit 1 per person not 2. Hand out tickets and watch the lines so no idiots cut the line. Also when people call to find out if they have them not to just give some lame excuse cause they dont like the call. be professional.

Yeah, a lot of effort it took those people snatching up buggy loads of Elmos that should have been limited to one each in the first place. Then maybe the others that wanted one COULD have put the same horribly stressful time and effort as you profiteers did...one line, one day.
Time and effort would have been a pliable excuse if you had to stand in line for one at a time like the rest of the world, if you're lucky enough to find that one.
...and I didn't see anyone here asking for any ebayer to do the leg work for them.
I for one wasn't moaning because I have a job. I LOVE having a job. It gives me a sense of pride that I can take care of myself and my family. So...I miss out on a few things because I am out working rather than sitting home all day trying to find ways to cheat the kids out of their Christmases.
Look at Mr/Miss ingenious up there...selling raffle tickets for ONE Elmo. That means he/she makes $1000 bucks of one $39 doll...and in turn makes everyone that buys that raffle ticket spend another month or two hoping and praying that they are the lucky ONE sucker who actually GETS the thing?
Greed. You can call it anything you want, but it is still GREED.

Get real!! Capitalism has been alive and well for many centuries. I was able to buy 100 if I choose but didnāt 't. not everyone grabbed them up!! As for the person using terrible language. I hope you do not kiss your grandchild with that MOUTH!! and the comment about limits.. get real.. If it was one per household, what about the other children in that household, how would the storeās keep up with one per household? that is like going to the store only to have limit of one per household on everything!! would you really like that? one milk, one soup, one bread, one barbie.. and so on.. all you people are mad that you didn't drop things to go get you one.. not our fault. I am not saying that the people that bought a ton of the Elmoās are right and just.. just saying it is a FREE country last time I checked.. Remember when you point fingers there are three pointing at YOU!! ask yourself.. Have I ever done anything like this in my life?? In most cases YES.. So hush up!! Live with YOUR mistake; take responsibility for you own "no action" response until there aren't any to be bought!!

If you think Elmo is crazy, wait till Nintendo Wii and PS3 are finally launched a week before thanksgiving. They are saying the secondary market on we at nearly 700 and PS3 a whopping 1500. So someone has the money to dish out.

I have never heards so much whinning from a bunch of adults in my life. Welcome to the free world and Capitalism. Yes it is alive and well and if you don't like it maybe you should go to a country like China or North Korea where they will not only limit you to one Communistic Elmo per customer, but also limit you on the amount of children you will have as well. Come On People! If you want an Elmo stand in line for it. You all sound like a bunch of LAZY parents that refuse to stand in line for your child and then sit around and blame everyone else because you cannot stroll down to the local toy store after your mid-day brunch and walk right in and purchase one. Will your child die if they do not get the Elmo? NO! You sound as spoiled as your children, you don't get your Elmo, so why not whine about it. Instead of whinning, why not get of your butt and start looking around for one, there not impossible to find, I have 6 in the bottom of my closet just waiting to hit eBay right before Christmas. How dare anyone make a profit right? Give me a break. Sounds like sour grapes and your that way due to YOUR poor planning not MINE. See you one eBay, I'm sure I'll sell one to one of you poor SAPS!

Notice that it's the big wheelers and dealers that got all the Elmos that are calling everyone else whiners? lol
Like I said before, if YOUR child was the one doing without, you wouldn't be acting so smug.
How do any of you know these people HAVEN'T stood in lines or searched on the internet for one? You don't. You just need something to soothe your concience and justify your selfish acts, so you try to make the others sound unworthy of the toys.
I have stood in lines...many of them. I've stood at ToysRus, BabysRUs, Walmarts, Targets and all the other 24 hour stores, all hours of the day AND nights that I wasn't working, to check for the Elmo shipments, and I don't even have children of my own. Unfortunately, I COULDN'T have any.
But I work on the road, so I can hit more stores than most of my friends who DO have children can...and THAT's why I'm here...not because I'm a lazy whiner...but because I'm on a mission. I'm a caring person who hates to see precious children do without.
And I will continue to stand up for the rights of a child.
Whether you all call it capitalism or any other word, it will always have the same meaning...GREED.
Frankly, you should be ashamed of yourselves. But without a concience, how could you be?
Everyone gets their just rewards. We may not see it, but you can bet your big ole' Elmo profits, what goes around ALWAYS comes back. ;)

Would everyone quit blaming the Ebay sellers!! Whine, whine, whine! Everyone is acting like the ones that have some they can sale are "stealing" from children. Oh please! Who do you think are buying these Elmo's? It's parents that are buying them for their children.. So your theory on taking from children-- far from it! If I want to make some profit off of the Elmos that I have to pay toward my daughters Christmas due to the fact that I am a single mom and things get tight around Christmas, who's business is it? Get over yourself! Chances are if you could find them and sale them you would! After all, in this country right now with high gas prices etc., any extra money helps!

I get a kick out of watching people go bonkers over something as simple as a furry toy. Anyone remember the cabbage patch doll craze? What a train wreck that was!
The thing that really puzzles me is that everyone has to have the Elmo doll right now. Why not just wait until mid-January, walk into your local toy store and purchase the doll for 39.99. Let's be realistic shall we. If someone pays 200 bucks for an Elmo today, how much will it be worth in 3 months? What if the child gets bored with it? What if the components that control the movement of the doll stop working? Well, the $200.00 Elmo will end up at a garage sale next spring for a whopping 5 bucks!
Surely consumers have more important things to do with their time and money than give into to this nonsense.

I'm with you Getover it! Ladee (nor anyone else) knows what my financial situation it - I have 2 Elmos at my house. If I choose to re-sell those to people (at whatever price they are willing to pay), that is not greed, that is TAKING CARE OF MY FAMILY!!! I'm not the multi-billion dollar Fisher-Price corporation - and a 40% profit for me on Elmo (if that's what F-P makes on each one) would be selling it for $70 (my cost was about $50 with tax and shipping). But according to some of the folks here, that would just be robbery. You can judge all you want about how much work it takes to find "hard to find" items (Elmo or otherwise), but take it from someone who has searched within a hundred mile radius on a weekly basis for a toy for her kid - its time-consuming work. Scoff and say that re-sellers aren't working for the profit they make, and try to make people feel guilty for making money. The desire to make money isn't greed - it is a basic need. Do people NEED to make a 100% profit on Elmo (and I quote 100% because most Elmo's I have seen sell in the $80 to $100 range on ebay)? Of course not. But if that is what the market dictates, it is a foolish business practice not to capitalize on it. If we were talking widgets here and not a child's toy, would anyone be complaining? Absolutely not. And since the purchasing limit on my pre-order was 2, I will be waiting until next year to buy my nieces and nephew TMX, because I need 3 total to be fair. I'll sell the 2 I have now and re-buy when more supply is available. The bottom line is that either people are willing and able to pay a premium or they are not. Don't hate the players - hate the game. Complain to Fisher-Price.

This is AJH posting - Ladee, I just want to go on record here and say that I am NOT a big wheeler-dealer, I don't own a store, and I don't have any "inside" tracks to anything. I am a hard-working mother who does everything she can to make sure her family is taken care of. Just as I don't know if anyone here has stood in line or searched for Elmo, you don't know anything about me either. Stop judging people for trying to make some money to help support their families. If I can parlay my $90 investment (for 2 Elmos) into $200 worth of toys, or clothes, or food for my daughter, I will do it, and I won't feel guilty for one second about it. What if I took my Elmo profits to buy even more presents for under-privileged children at Christmas time (yes, I do that every year too)? Would that still make me greedy and without a conscience?

i saw as i went to walmart and saw a man who bought all 30 and was furious because i had my son and nephew who were wanting one. then i went to kmart and found out that the same man who bought the 30 went to kmart and bought the whole pallet. what do you say to that. to me that is greed. all i wanted were two. then the two managers from both stores were so angry because of what this man did to both stores and tried to apologise to the parents. but i do know that the line then moved over to customer service and about 50 complaints were filed to the corporate office just at walmart on that day. could you imagine how many more at the other walmarts and stores selling them to these people in bulk? i think that there will be changes from now on regarding any toys that are deemed hot for the season in the future.

i was just told by someone that fisher price was only going to make a 1.5 million for US, Canada, UK. the likely that they will be any more than that is not looking very good. it is not that much when you consider 3 countries. only because it is limited edition and so that is why i think that many are wanting them. they will though be worth more in the future as a collectors item.

Bella - Obviously a person who is buying out the entire stock of every store has some sort of ulterior motive - be it greed or otherwise. I would just reiterate that not every person who decides to re-sell 1 or 2 Elmos is a good-for-nothing, heartless, soul-less, fun-hating, Christmas stealing Grinch. And just to be devil's advocate - isn't it remotely possible that this person was buying them to give away to children in need? We don't always have to jump to the worst conclusion about people...

That is why I am here to make profit off of all you nut jobs. HA!
In addition, many of you whiners are acting as if selling it online means that poor little children donāt get them. HELLO⦠GET A CLUE they are being bought for children. Just not yours.

i would have not jumped to that conclusion if he had not come back around to walmart when they 9 in just last night and bragged how much he made off of them. i managed to get 3 for my son and nephew. when the manager was told by the cashiers who saw him the first time that he was back then the manager came out and only allowed him 1. to say the least he was not happy and cursed everyone at the store and in front of some kids too!and walked out. from what i hear now in my town the stores are allowing 1 per household. i am glad i got them and at cost. my sister managed to get one herself and we sold it to a lady who walked away crying for $39.99.

My wife and I have been buying selling many things for years, way before Ebay. This is America. There is alot of risk taking etc but its how we make our living. We have been ebay sellers since 1998. I get sick when I hear people talking about "cheating the kids out of their christmas" etc. Basicly you have a bunch of envious people who complain and get jealous when they see others making a buck. As far as christmas goes its my least favorite "holy day". I loathe the day. Whats holy about it? What does it mean to our kids? To wait on some imaginary fat guy whom they are taught to exalt instead of Gods Son and the greatest gift to planet earth and then to bathe in excess materialism GIVEN to then only because the calender says Dec 25th??............or because you have to match your neighbors kids gifts? Disgusting and a spit in the face of God in my opinion. Not to mention the fact that Dec 25th was NOT the bithday of Jesus but instead a pagan carnal day..........which it still is. Notice how many times you will hear the name JESUS connected with any christmas ads on tv this year.....NONE.
....and by the way..........my wife and I have picked up around 35 elmos and sold about half to folks who want their kids "christmas". We thank God for every one of them, it helps buy my wifes meds during her chemotherapy and follow up recovery from serious uterine cancer. Want an elmo for your kids "christmas"? Get one. Its just that simple. Hint......prayer helps. Excess gift giving to kids is bad for their charactor. As the father of three grown sons I do have experience. All college grads by the way.2 with honors.

well this is my first time on this site and stumbled across it searching for elmo shipment dates. im not a parent but a happily married homeowning taxpayer. america the beautiful...anyhow elmo was scheduled at wal mart oct.1st at 7 am.. my wife and i were the first in line at 3am. the limit was 2 per customer so we invited my mother in law and grandmother in law to join in and buy some for us! they happily obliged. so now i have 8! i agree with whoever said it. stop your griping and get out their in the trenches with the rest of us and WAIT 3 or 4 hours for your elmo. with a craze like this dont expect to just roll into any retailer in town and find elmos stocked up. you say you wont pay 100 bucks for one, and you obviously havent been in the lines till wee hours of the morning...so how much do you love your kids? i have elmo ready to roll if you want one...125.00 each, plus shipping....guitar_instructor1@hotmail.com. oh by the way i do love kids and plan to have a bunch!

I would just like to say, that spending $125 on an Elmo that retails for about $40 has nothing to do with how much you love your kids. How stupid to say that. That saying money is everything to a child and its not. You know what, people wouldn't have to stand in line at 3am for hours on end if everyone was just buying for their kids and not profit. For those of you who bought more than enough for just your kids or who don't even have kids, how sad you are to say that is this is acceptable.
I love my children more than anything and would do anything for them. But, I will not show that you can get what you want for the right price. I have 1 on order, if it comes before Christmas great if not no big deal.

Who can't find TMX Elmo's? I just looked at Ebay and they are plenty to go around (over 3000). I know Wal-Mart is cheaper, but they are sold out. Wal-Mart, Target, and Kmart have turned out to be the wholesaler in this situation. Why are people not crying about Fisher Price marking the item up 2 or 3 times before Wal-Mart purchases it. It is supply and demand and Ebay has turned into the retailer in this situation. The price will only go up to the point that the consumer is willing to pay for it.

I think Fisher Price has a good marketing strategy with the T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo 10th Year Anniversary - Wonder what they will do for Next Year??? Tickle-Me-Extreme 2? So the X stands for the 10 year anniversary or does it stand for the Tickle me Extreme (xtreme)
I just check and the TMX Elmo 10th anniversary edition Doll is still listed in the Ebay store for $200
Geez! People really pay this much???

ATTENTION!: TO ALL THOSE WHO ORDERED ELMOS FROM WWW.PRESTIGEKOLLECTIONS.COM
It seems that the website was not legit and people who ordered Elmos from the site are starting to file claims to get their money back. I personaly ordered one and I have already filed a claim through PayPal. If you ordered through the site I would get in touch with customer service reps from your CC company and file a claim. I have heard that some people have already been issued refunds from the seller. I have not heard anything on my claim for over 24 hours. Live and learn.

Maybe some parents need to teach their kids better morals. If these parents out there are the type that keep 'giving in' to their children's cries form yet another stupid toy - instead of teaching them about being patient and how if they can wait just another month these toys will be everywhere - then I don't feel bad at all for them. Shame on them for letting their kids make up their mind as to what they just have to have no matter what.

I agree that Walmart should be commended for the one per person limit. Christmastime is just to precious to have families buying overprices Elmo TMX on eBay.

The local walmart at NC has a limited 2 per person. But even then, they told us usually when they get a shipment in, they're taken before the stock personel can put them on the shelf

i'm sorry. i'm one of those ebayers you hate too. but do i feel bad? a little. the thing is - we don't have any money right now. so we took our RENT and bought out a WALMART store for the TMX Elmo's. It was limit 1 per customer, but we went to different tills throughout the store both me and DH and got the majority of them - including the last one. But we need the money. Our kids are not going to have a christmas unless we can get some extra cash and this was an easy way to do it. We've already made back the money we spent on the elmo's - now the rest is profit for our kids. (yes our baby get's an elmo for christmas too).
I don't care. We're hoping to do it again with next month's rent. If you hate me or the fact that we've been able to profit off it - then wait 6 months and you'll be able to get it on the shelves for a markdown $19.99 like everyone else. Otherwise, don't complain b/c you didn't think of it first.

I have been trying for weeks with no luck to locate & purchase a TMX Elmo for my son's birthday. He's has multiple handicaps & Elmo is one of the things in his life that bring a great BIG smile to his face. I cannot afford to pay the prices that they are going for on Ebay. That type of money is better spent on his therapies. If you or anyone you know is willing to sell one at retail or a little more , please let me know. Thank you.

Not a whiner
(10/27/06 5:26am)
Stop calling people whiners. I don't think anyone here is begruding someone making a buck on ebay, but going to stores at the crack of dawn (which is not a solution since they dont open till 8) is not something that is possible for someone with a real job. Buying 1 or 2 is not the same as buying 9 to sell on ebay.
Either way, it's not ebay that is to blame. I have it on good authority that the manufacturer is only going to release 40 percent of their stock before Christmas ( to make sure they all sell) and the rest after christmas (to make sure they all sell) they are the ones who are to blame, and we should be attacking them. Any parent who is upset should write the manufacturers.

I must say that these little red monsters are infectious even to adults. Many of you may not know that the box Elmo comes in has a speaker on it. If the box is touched in a certain way Elmo's voice starts to laugh and says "uh uh uuuh...no peeking aaah ha ha ha haaa." Well I was at the post office shipping this thing and every time I touched it the little voice went off and p.o. employees and customers went crazy with laughter.

Got mine in 3 days from Walmart.com for 22.00 and that included shipping and tax a week before Christmas. I have learned that if you are patient, things will come to you. I didn't get to be a stay at home mom of four by spending $100 for a $30 toy, nor do I cheat others out of their hard earned money just because they are stupid enough to. What goes around, comes around and eventually, it will come back to you. I'm glad you can sleep at night with your conscience, because I couldn't teach my kids to treat others that way, but I guess that is why the world is the way it is anyway. Take care!
