Why? Because it's too Western.
Let's check...
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are.
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.

Looks fine to me.
When the blazing sun is gone,
When he nothing shines upon,
Then you show your little light,

Still okay.
Then the traveler in the dark
Thanks you for your tiny spark;
He could not see which way to go,
If you did not twinkle so.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
It's good the their local government want to teach using materials written by Indian poets. That should be reason enough to take off Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. But, I still cannot figure out which part is too western.
