As reported, Kate McCaan, Madeleine McCaan's mother, will be named as a formal suspect on Madeleine's disappearance.

Kate McCaan was questioned for 11 hours by authorities yesterday and will be made an "arguido" (formal suspect) today. Her husband Gerry McCaan is also set to be questioned today.

As an arguido "she will gain more legal protection than if she is just questioned as a witness. This would allow her to remain silent during questioning and to have legal representation."

It was reported that Forensic science Services found new information from the evidence taken from the McCaan's apartment in Praia da Luz that is significant for the investigation. The theory that Madeleine might be dead is also given special attention.
