US Infant Survival Rates Among The Lowest in Industrialized Nations

According to a Save the Children report, the US "ranks near the bottom for infant survival rates among modernized nations." The US is tied with Hungary, Malta
, Poland and Slovakia.Seven out of 1,000 babies die before reaching their first birthday according to the Center for Disease and Control. The rate of babies born to African-American mother are two and a half times higher than Caucasian mothers.
Statistics were taken in 2004, which is the most recent available.
