US Passports for Children

US Passports for Children

Since the 23rd of January, all travelers — including American citizens — entering the US have been required to display passports.

In a bid to help families and traveling school groups, the US will be exempting US and Canadian children from the above ruling. US and Canadian citizens ages 15 or younger with parental consent will be allowed to cross land or sea borders with just certified copies of their Birth Certificates. Those traveling by air will still be required to show their passports, though.

This new regulation will take effect in January 2008.
