Politics of Parenting

Gary Stocklaufer weighed 558 lbs. Works as a truck driver, married to Cindy and father to 8 year-old Robert and 4 year-old Max. That was until the judge decided to give Max to another couple for a possible adoption.
According to the Missouri Department of Social Services, the adoptive parent's health is a factor to consider when choosing adoptive parents. Although they declined to give the specifics of the case.
So, in order for Gary to win Max back, he underwent gastric bypass surgery.
It's amazing what parents will do and how far they'll go for their kids. We all know that losing weight is not an easy task, and for a man his size, it's definitely a struggle. I hope that the judge would consider the heroic thing that he did and decide to give Max back. Besides, isn't it enough that the birth mother chose the couple, plus the fact that they're relatives and that they have another adoptive son should be enough to give the child to his rightful parents.
