It is not advisable to leave your child or children alone in a room, sleeping or otherwise. Since their is always a possibility of something bad happening such as possibility of fire, kidnapping or falling from the bed.

But if you really have to leave your child for even a few minutes, then caution should be practiced. Baby phones are already a big help, but for me, that alone is not enough. For me, I have see and hear my kids, for my piece of mind.

The Video Baby Call from Nova is a good idea to keep track of your kids when they're alone. With a range of upto 100 meters (open air), LCD color display (you can also see your child in the dark), emits no pulsating radiation, and wide-angle rotating camera. This is the best way keep track of your kids although it comes with a hefty price of 199.99€ (U$277.35).

For me it's still not worth leaving my kids alone even if they're only 40 meters away and I can see the door from where I'm eating or having fun with my friends, especially when I'm in a foreign place. So parents, don't throw caution in the wind, since getting your kids hurt or losing them is not worth a candle-lit dinner.
