Visiting Grandparents

Visiting Grandparents

It has been a week since my children (a 3-year old and a 3-month old) and I braved a 14-hour flight to visit my parents. It's a yearly trek which my husband and I take to make sure that the kids know their other set of grandparents.

Normally, I have my parenting dos and don'ts which I am very strict about. Rules which become very lax and in some cases even, completely forgotten to allow my kids and my parents to completely bond.

Yes, my kids do get spoiled. But, hey, once a year of life as kings isn't so bad.

And you know what? I am also completely enjoying everything. While I let them bond, I also get the time to do things which I normally cannot do while I am home, taking care of the kids.

My husband and I are now free to eat our meals together. There is absolutely no need for any one of us to stop eating and take care of a fussy child. We've also been going out sans baby stroller. We can even try out clothes in stores without the need to hurry. Plus more.

Visiting grandparents are not only good for the kids, it's also good for the parents.
