In the Spotlight

Who would have thought that this joyous event would turn into a nightmare?
Imagine how it must have felt when the mother ran to the room and saw her husband jumping off the balcony, 125 feet above ground?! Worse, when she looked out, she also saw her 2 children lying on the ground.
Apparently, Van Dyk was a "peaceful guy, who never, never fought did not have any history of mental problems." So, what led him to do something as horrifying as this? Was he suffering from depression?
Should you or anyone you know be suffering from depression, it is always best to get help... before it becomes too late and the children start to suffer. Prevent another another tragic story from happening.

I think he was. I knew Ed as a young teen. He was always very studious, a very good student, on teh tennis team, liked playing chess, and it seemed he was always destined for great things academically and career-wise. Perhaps the pressure he always seemed to be under to be good at what he did lead to this? I am not blaming anyone, many people put this pressure on themselves and he seemed to be that type. He never seemed to "cut loose", ever, as a kid. I feel sorry for Ed because he must have been hurting a lot to do what he did...a lot. And of course I feel for his family. He was a very good kid that acheived a lot in his life before this horrible ending.

The man had two children for god's sake. How can you say that this was a simple case of depression? If this is the case, then everybody who suffers from a depression could kill everybody they know and everyone else would blame it on the depression. No. This is not normal. He most probably suffered of a head condition.
