Wedding Anniversary without the Kids

I cannot remember anymore when we had our last date. It's seems like a long time ago. Unfortunately, for us, we are not really that lucky with having Babysitting options. My in-laws can babysit from time to time but only for a limited number of hours as they are not physically able to keep up with a toddler. This means that if and when my husband and I do go out without the kids, our options are very limited.
In less than a week, we will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary. Last year, we took a whole day off and spent it together. That way, we didn't have to worry about our son since he was happily playing with his mates in the kindergarten. This year, however, we cannot have the same plan as the recent birth of our second son have already eaten up the available vacation leave. So, our only option is to leave our oldest son with his grandparents for a maximum of 3 hours while we (my husband, month old son and I) have a romantic (we'll try!) dinner somewhere.
We have been dreaming of taking an anniversary trip without distractions and the kids but that would have to remain a dream for now.
What about YOU? How did you celebrate your wedding anniversary? Did you take your kids with you? Do you have any tips for me and my husband?
