Your relationship with your husband

Your relationship with your husband

More often than not, downtime with my husband means talking about our finances, our respective work, our plans for the future, our son and/or our soon-to-be born child. With all those concerns, we barely have time to do other things.

Other things which I sometimes miss. Like just lazily sitting together, being silly and relaxing completely without having to worry about, well, other things.

Who would have thought that getting sick with flu would allow me to experience again what I miss the most? With my son still in the kindergarten, my husband took the afternoon off to be with me. Since I was feeling better, he took me to Starbucks to hang out. All we did was eat, drink and laugh. I swear, it felt like the time when we were still dating. It was like getting to know each other once again. It was re-discovering how we much we make each other laugh. For a long time, I have forgotten how our opposite characters actually complements both our wants and needs.

That afternoon, I was reminded of the reason why I first fell in love with my husband.

Look at these ladies. They are all also still so in-love with their husbands: She even dedicated a whole site to tell the world how she loves her husband. She has been married for 17 years and yes, she still does love her husband. She does, too. Same with her.

What about you? Should you "forget" how it was with your husband before the kids, the responsibilities and the problems, take the time off and re-discover each other again.

What happens when a man’s love for his wife is more powerful than death?
I recently read a true love story called White Summer Dress (www.whitesummerdress.com) about a woman who battles cancer and her husband never loses his love for her It’s well written and an incredible journey that will touch your heart. I couldn’t put it down. A must read if your interested in true human love. – Robert Gooding
